Hunter Douglas takes part in the Makeover of the Largest Mercedes-Benz Showroom in Australia.

Hunter Douglas Commercial has recently worked with the largest Mercedes-Benz Showroom outside Germany. The luxury car showroom received a stunning makeover at its South Melbourne outfit, with an installation of 32 motorised Hunter Douglas Commercial Heavy Duty Roller Blinds with patented QUANTUM™ Technology.

The secret of QUANTUM Technology is its ergonomic design, which focuses on delivering greater efficiency. Featuring smooth operability and unrivalled inner strength, this patented technology spans the largest of windows beautifully – making it the perfect complement to the South Melbourne Mercedes-Benz Showroom’s contemporary look.

Andrew Cummings and his team from Shades in Hawthorn entered a bespoke consultative process with the Mercedes-Benz team and, with their unrivaled expertise, recommended the Heavy Duty QUANTUM modular system, which covers oversized windows, and comes with quiet motorised Qmotion® Technology easily operated by remote control.

The blinds feature Prosceen Sunscreen fabric, in a charcoal colour.  A Sunscreen fabric provides all the benefits of UV and heat protection, insulation and glare reduction while maintaining a clear outside view from inside, as well as a distinguished look from the outside.

“Much like Mercedes-Benz, Hunter Douglas Commercial has been synonymous with quality craftsmanship and innovation which is why we are able to achieve such a premium look, coupled with high-end technological capability, virtually maintenance-free for the showroom,” said Gallery owner Andrew Cummings.

“We are extremely proud to be working with a global brand with its feet firmly in the luxury space and this is something that we continue to strive for. The result looks incredible and we’ve had fantastic feedback from the management team,” said Andrew.

Screen Nature Ultimetal Scales New Heights in the Barangaroo Project

Screen Nature Ultimetal (SNU), the newest fabric for Roller Blinds from Hunter Douglas Commercial, not only exceeds industry standards but has also received a distinction as one of the products to be featured in Sydney’s largest redevelopment project, Barangaroo.

SNU combines a high level of solar reflection with excellent glare control. This means the fabric provides good interior thermal protection, while at the same time fully optimising natural light and retaining excellent transparency. No other fabric in the market has been found to feature these same properties. The benefits and features offered by Screen Nature Ultimetal are unparalleled, and it has already created excitement in other countries.

Customised Roller Blind solution featuring SNU

Hunter Douglas Commercial was required to develop a fully customised solution, to ensure the blinds were incorporated into the window frame of the building’s structure. This meant special end caps, fabrics in the Barangaroo grey colour, and customised bottom bars were developed to incorporate the blinds seamlessly into the building.

The Barangaroo South Tower Two project involves the manufacture and installation of over 4,000 linked roller blinds throughout the 41 levels of tower. Installation commenced in September 2014, with construction and full installation expected to be completed at the end of 2015. An additional 2,000 linked roller blinds will be installed in Barangaroo South Tower One, with further details and installation updates to be provided throughout the course of the project.
